Installing Fedora/CentOS/Redhat Linux with single/dual boot

Pranaam to all bhai ji _/\_

In this post we will go through the installation of Fedora/Red hat/CentOS linux.
all these are same the only difference is, Red Hat is payed version , rest of the things are same (A-Z) ;)
lets start

i am going to use fedora ISO for installation.so first we need to boot with ISO/Bootable USB.
for installation we need to specify some basic configuration like language type for OS(English or anything else), keyboard layout type. just select appropriate one .

now after these steps , we need to configure options related to storage/partition type/partition format.

select basic storage. and click next button in the bottom of screen on your right hand.

specify the Host name of your system, i am using indishell as my system hostname.

proceed with installation by pressing next button in the bottom of the screen.

now we need to specify the time zone where we are living

now, screen will come up with root account password prompt, add a password for root account

after setting root account password, we will be redirected to installation type , where we will have to choose installation type method for our OS. be care full at this step, wrong installation type will wipe out your entire  hard disk data .if you have data on disk already/other OS(like windows/other linux), then select custom layout type and proceed by clicking next button.

after this step, we have list of partitions on harddisk with partition format type(NTFS/EXT/LVM etc),partition size, partition device name(/dev/sda1 or something like that).
if you have already installed other OS on your hard disk then just simply dont select that partition for your fedora installation.create a new partition or modify existing partition with following properties.

select mount point as /, format type of partition is ext4,size of partition(memory size atleast 10 GB or more),
check mark primary type option.
select your configured partition and click next on the bottom of screen

confirm changes to disk that you have configured partition according to your requirement .
click write chances to disk.

confirm bootloader location for OS

select your OS installation type i.e whether you want to use your system just as a desktop user/developer/server admin.Because we will be able to add packages and configuration according to our need.
select your user type, check customize now radio button in bottom of screen and click next button for your package configuration.

like this one, from here i can specify that which type of desktop i want, servers(SQL,SSH,FTP etc) and other things.just check mark whatever you want to add to your. click next button in the bottom of screen.

Installation will start.

wait till the end of installation process.and click reboot button when you got this screen.Installation has been completed :D

select fedora linux for boot menu.if you have installed fedora/Red hat/centOS with dual boot, you will also get option for booting in other OS that was installed on Harddisk.

now login with root username and password that you specified during installation(i am using commmand line interface, if you have installed desktop version with Gnome or KDE interface,  you will get graphical user interface for login and get GUI desktop ).

we have done \m/.
